Actor and Model Milind Soman has landed in a legal soup after the South Goa district police on Friday booked model-actor Milind Soman for obscenity. The complaint comes days after a nude photograph of the Bajirao Mastani star went viral on his 55th birthday. As per reports, the actor was booked under section 294 (obscenity) of the Indian Penal Code, along with other relevant sections of the Information Technology Act. On November 4, Soman had uploaded a photo on Twitter which showed him running naked on a Goa beach on his 55th birthday. The actor captioned the picture, clicked against the wide expanse of the ocean, as “Happy Birthday to me...55 and running”. In the Instagram post, Soman gave the photo credit to his wife Ankita Konwar.

This is not the first time, Soman has been involved in such a controversy. In 1995, Milind and his then girlfriend, Madhu Sapre bared it all for a print ad.  The duo appeared naked with a live python slithering around their taut bodies. The ad caused a furore. An outraged Mumbai Grahak Panchayat lodged a complaint with the social service branch of the Mumbai police. The police booked Soman, Sapre, photographer Prabuddha Dasgupta, Cine Blitz editor Rita Mehta, Chitralekha and G magazine owner Madhuri Kotak, and Tuff Shoes director Ashish Mohan for publishing, printing, and circulating obscene material (section 292(2) of the Indian Penal Code) and under sections 3 and 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act. Soman often shares videos of him working out and fitness tips on social media and promotes running barefoot.
