Days after Rhea Chakraborty's alleged role in dealing with drug peddlers and narcotics came into light the actress in her interview with India Today termed all the allegations baseless. The 28-year old, she has never taken any drugs ever, Talking about what he mixed in his tea, coffee before his death, she said, "I don't know, I never put any narcotic related stuff in his tea, coffee or water he would have added it himself." Rhea did however, confess that Sushant was into drugs a claim which was earlier made by one of his former staff. She said, "It really sad to discuss vices of someone who is gone, but Sushant used to smoke marijuana. On the flip side, a series of incriminating WhatsApp conversations of Rhea Chakraborty did surface, that hint at the alleged use of drugs by the Bollywood actress.
In one of the conversations, Rhea is talking to an alleged drug dealer named Gaurav Ayra. She says "Incase we speak about hard drugs, I haven't been doing too much. Tried MDMA once" and goes on to ask "You have MD?" In another conversation, a contact saved as 'Miranda Sushi' in Rhea's phone tells the actress "Hi Rhea, the stuff is almost over."Miranda then asks Rhea "Should we take it from Showik's (Rhea's brother) friend? But he has just hash & bud." However, the most startling conversation, was between Rhea and her friend named Jaya Saha.On November 25, 2019, Jaya texts Rhea "Use 4 drops in tea or water and let him sip it... Give it 30-40 minutes to kick in" "Thank you so much," Rhea texts Jaya Saha, and Jaya replies saying "No problem bro, hope it helps".
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is currently investigating the drug angle, and the agency has confirmed, that Rhea Chakraborty, with whom Sushant was in a relationship at the time of his death, was using his funds to procure drugs. The investigative agency has disclosed that the conversation between the 'Jalebi' actress and Rajput's caretaker, Samuel Miranda, revealed that the two were working 'in close coordination' and using the 'Kedarnath' actor's money.
