Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor passed away on Thursday morning after fighting a long battle with cancer. His brother Randhir Kapoor confirmed the news. An official statement released by the actor's family, which stated that he "passed away peacefully at 8:45 am IST in hospital today after a two-year battle with leukemia." The veteran actor's funeral will be held near the hospital at Marine Lines Chandanwadi.

However reports are emerging that the actor's daughter will travel by by road to Mumbai for his funeral amid the nationwide coronavirus lockdown. Rishi Kapoor, 67, died in Mumbai this morning after a long battle with cancer. His wife, actor Neetu Kapoor, and son Ranbir Kapoor are in Mumbai. Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt was seen arriving at the hospital a while ago.
