Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], August 15 : After creating over 22 blockbusters, Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar's successful partnership came to an end in 1982.

Surprisingly, the legendary writers are now coming back with their docuseries titled 'Angry Young Men', which is directed by National Award winner Namrata Rao.

In an interview with ANI, Namrata opened up about her experience working with the Khan and Akhtar family for the documentary.

"To date, Salim-Javed share friendly relations. (While making the docuseries), Salman recalled how Salim Sahab advised his family to always maintain 'dosti' with the Akhtars despite his split with Javed Akhtar. Dono families ke beech kabhi kadwahat nahi aayi (The families never developed bitter feelings for each other)," Namrata shared.

She also talked about the sense of humour of Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar.

"Salim-Javed are interesting people. I have learned so much from them during the making of this docuseries. They both are funny. They have an amazing sense of humour. Kahi baari toh set pe silence bolna padta tha kyuki unki baatein sunke sab hans padte the," Namrata said.

The documentary's title Angry Young Men refers to the angry young man hero-type the duo created in the 70s.

Speaking about the docuseries, Salim in Prime Video's press note said, "I started my career in front of the camera but realized that my true strength lay in telling stories. That's when I decided to focus on what came naturally to me - writing. I then met Javed who was equally passionate about writing, and together we did some fantastic work together, which I am very proud of. We had an excellent run and achieved great success, and also challenged industry norms along the way. It feels wonderful that our journey is being documented for future generations, and I hope they will be inspired to do their best and not be confined by society's prescribed roles."

Angry Young Men is set to premiere exclusively on Prime Video in India on August 20. Produced by Salman Khan Films, Excel Media & Entertainment, and Tiger Baby, the series is executive produced by Salma Khan, Salman Khan, Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, and Reema Kagti.
