Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and his family are set to vacate their iconic Mumbai bungalow, Mannat, as the residence undergoes a major renovation. The Khans, who have lived there for over 25 years, will temporarily move to a luxury apartment in Pali Hill.
According to a report in Hindustan Times, the renovation includes a long-planned extension and is expected to begin in May. Since Mannat is a Grade III heritage structure, structural changes required court approval, which the actor has reportedly secured.
Shah Rukh, along with his wife Gauri and children Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam, will shift to an apartment in Pali Hill, Bandra. The family has leased four floors from producer Vashu Bhagnani’s Puja Casa building. Shah Rukh’s Red Chillies Entertainment has signed a leave and license agreement with Bhagnani’s children, Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshika Deshmukh, who co-own the property.
The leased space includes two duplex apartments on the first, second, seventh, and eighth floors. It will accommodate the family, their security, staff, and office space. Shah Rukh will reportedly pay a monthly rent of Rs 24 lakh for the three-year lease, though the family may return to Mannat once the renovation is complete, which could take up to two years.
