Actor Abhilasha Patil passed away on Tuesday due to Covid-19 complications. The actor who appeared in Marathi and Hindi films was in her early 40s. She is survived by her husband and son.The 47-year-old actress had featured in Sushant Singh Rajput starrer ‘Chhichhore’ and was also a part of Bollywood hits like ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ and Akshay Kumar-Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer ‘Good Newwz’. Sanjay Kulkarni, who shared screen space with Abhilasha Patil in Zee Yuva daily soap BaapManus in his interview to Indian Express said, Last evening around six, I got a call from Jyoti Patil, who worked with us in BaapManus, about Abhilasha’s poor health. I learnt she had gone to Benaras where she got fever and on her return to Mumbai, she tested positive for coronavirus. I tried reaching out to her, but both of her numbers were switched off. Then around 8.30 pm, actor Anand Prabhu, who played our son on the same show, informed me about her demise. This has been so shocking because she had so much to achieve in life. She had plans. Abhilasha was kind-hearted and such a hardworking artiste. It’s a huge loss to the industry.”

Many Marathi actors and Abhilasha Patil's friends from the industry mourned the actress's death. Actor-director Shashank Udapurkar, who worked with Abhilasha on Prawaas, shared a post on Facebook. He wrote, "Abhilasha Patil, very hard working and energetic co artist.. We worked together in PRAWAAS. Don’t have words to express. RIP Abhilasha Ji (sic).”Assistant Director Prakash Patel shared the unfortunate news on Twitter and wrote, "Hard to believe that this was our last pic together...I pray that your soul finds peace...You will be missed Abhilasha Patil Ma'am....#abhilashapatil #marathiactress #rip." One of her co-stars, Kavitta Amarjeett had also penned a tribute on social media and shared, “#abhilashapatil will miss u, not done 5 years back you met me on the sets of a film that we did together. Since then we became very good friends....a lot of sharing always happened between both of us. Until the last phone call you discussed about optimism and compassion in these crazy times.. How could you leave us just like that suddenly???? I'm not able to come to terms with it. A friend whom I could relate to has gone ....always struggling for good opportunities and I felt sooo proud of you for what you were.....I will miss u Abhilasha ......With a heavy heart I say RIP.”Abhilasha Patil is among a few celebs who succumbed to Covid-19 in the second wave of the pandemic. Several other celebrities like Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Sonu Sood, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Satish Kaushik, Katrina Kaif and Kartik Aaryan, among others have recovered from the disease.
