Actress Swara Bhasker, who is an active social media user, has thanked Pakistan for coming out in support of India during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Veere Di Wedding star appreciated  Pakistan for being a “large hearted neighbour” despite facing vilification from sections of Indian media. Earlier, Swara also thanked former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar after he urged his fans in Pakistan to come forward and help India in tackling the ongoing coronavirus cases. "India is really struggling with Covid-19. Global support needed. Health care system is crashing. Its a Pandemic, we are all in it together. Must become each other's support," he tweeted along with a video.To this, Swara replied, "Thank you Shoaib Akhtar ji for the kind words and gesture of humanity! Deeply appreciated."

Pakistani star Momina Mustehsan also appealed to the government to extend help to India as the country is facing shortage of resources. “As cases in India soar to highest global daily and second highest in total, it is bound to put strain on resources. This is humanity vs the virus. Our battle against Covid is also intensifying, but can we share to help our neighbors? #IndiaNeedsOxygen @ImranKhanPTI @SMQureshiPTI,” she wrote. Earlier, cricketer Suresh Raina also commented on the situation and wrote, 'India is battling a crisis situation today. The medical infrastructure is slowly collapsing, resources depleting and more lives at risk than ever before. There is no pain greater than seeing your loved one fight the battle.' He further added, 'My humble request to everyone - if you have the choice to stay home, please do it to keep yourself, your family and your nation safe. Do your bit to help the doctors, police, paramedics and govt authorities do their job. That is the need of the hour!' The day before yesterday, Indian recorded over 3.46 lakh new COVID-19 cases. According to the Union Health Ministry, five states — Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat and Kerala — contribute 54 per cent of the cases. While several hospitals in Delhi continue to report oxygen shortage, lack of ventilators, medicines and hospital beds.
