New Delhi [India], April 20 : India Gate in Delhi witnessed a dynamic display of fitness and community spirit today as the 'Fit India Sundays on Cycle' marathon was held with overwhelming participation.

With over 300 cycling events taking place simultaneously across the country, the event, aimed at promoting an active and healthy lifestyle, saw actor and Rugby Association President Rahul Bose joining hundreds of cyclists as they took part in the event, which is organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) in collaboration with the Cycling Federation of India (CFI).

"Of course, exercise is good for health, but it becomes even better when it is done together," Rahul Bose said during the event, emphasising the importance of community participation in fitness initiatives.

Bose further expressed his commitment to spreading the message of the 'Fit India Sundays on Cycle' initiative across the nation, adding, "As a community, this country is getting out on Sundays and getting active."

He highlighted the crucial role of sleep in maintaining good health, and said, "Sleep is the most important for good health. You can only sleep well when your conscience is clear, and it can only happen when we live a morally clear life."

The actor also took the opportunity to commend the growing support for rugby in India, particularly through initiatives like Khelo India.

"Over the last year, Khelo India has started supporting rugby... In rugby, women are performing even better than men at the Asian level," he noted.

The 'Fit India Sundays on Cycle' initiative is part of the government's efforts to encourage physical fitness and well-being across the nation.

By organising cycling events every Sunday, the initiative seeks to motivate people of all ages to integrate exercise into their daily routines, fostering a healthier and more active society.
