Madrid, April 13 Five weeks have now passed since the last games were played in Spain's LaLiga Santander with players forced to carry out their physical preparations at home due to fears over COVID-19 and the conditions imposed by the State of Emergency declared on March 14 by Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.

Monday sees workers from some non-essential sectors allowed to return to work, with Real Sociedad announcing they planned a limited return to training at the club's Zubieta training center on Tuesday, reports Xinhua news agency.

However, Spain's Superior Sports Committee has advised that the planned move goes against the conditions of the State of Emergency to forbid the opening of any sports center, meaning the decision from the San Sebastian-based club has been put on ice.

Posting on social media, Real Sociedad midfielder David Zurutuza expressed his frustration at the decision.

"I don't understand why they won't let us go to the installations at Zubieta to run, where we would have three people on a pitch that covers about a hectare," wrote Zurutuza, who said he was confident the club would do nothing to risk the health of its players.

"I know that our job is to entertain ...but I think there are rules that are adapted to reality and others which are a long way from them. This is my discreet manner of showing I am annoyed with the decision," added the midfielder.

There is still no date for the return of the LaLiga or for the final of the Copa del Rey where Real Sociedad will face Basque neighbors and rivals, Athletic Club Bilbao in a game originally scheduled to be played on April 18th in Seville.
