With 147 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, Andhra Pradesh continues to report over 100 cases a day and the number of patients increased to 3,990. Of this, 1,510 are active cases.

The state had reported it's all-time of 161 cases on Saturday.

Two deaths during the day, took the Covid-19 toll in the state to 77. The deaths were reported from Krishna and Ananthapur districts.

As per government figures last issued on Monday, Andhra Pradesh's mortality rate has slipped to 1.56 per cent from 1.64 per cent clocked the previous day and is 10th among states. The national mortality rate stands at 2.78 per cent.

However, 11 people were discharged from hospitals during the day, raising the cumulative tally of cured people to 2,403. The state's recovery rate dropped to 56.33 per cent on Monday from Sunday's 58.32 per cent.

In terms of recovery rate, Andhra Pradesh ranks sixth among states. The national recovery rate stood at 48.36 per cent on Monday against 48.2 per cent on Sunday.

In the 24 hours ending 9 a.m. on Tuesday, 15,085 tests were conducted, the state nodal officer reported. Andhra Pradesh had tested 4,69,276 samples till Monday, lagging only behind Rajasthan (5,06,784), Maharashtra (5,53,063) and Tamil Nadu (5,92,970). All over the country, 47,74,434 tests had been conducted till Monday.

The cumulative tally of Covid-19 cases among returnees from other states increased to 907 from 838 on Monday.
