16 new Covid cases raise Karnataka tally to 443

Karnataka registered 16 new Covid positive cases, raising the state's tally to 443, said an official on Thursday.

Bengaluru, April 23 Karnataka registered 16 new Covid positive cases, raising the state's tally to 443, said an official on Thursday.

"Till date, 443 Covid positive cases have been confirmed. This includes 17 deaths and 141 discharges," said a health official.

In the past 19 hours, discharges rose by 10 from 131 to 141.

Among the 16 new cases, 11 are men and five women.

Incidentally, 15 of the new cases are contacts of earlier cases.

Nine men who were contacts of 419th case tested positive for the virus in Bengaluru Urban.

Of the new cases, Bengaluru Urban accounted for nine, followed by Vijayapura, Mandya and Hubli, Dharwad (2 each) and Bantwala, Dakshina Kannada (1 each).
