India is currently dealing with a devastating second Covid-19 wave that has swept through the nation, crushing the country's health infrastructure and overburdening frontline medical workers. The number of corona victims and the death toll is increasing day by day. Various measures are being taken to prevent corona infection. 

According to doctors, the new corona strain is more dangerous than ever. The symptoms of the new strain corona are also very different. COVID-19 can cause a variety of symptoms that may appear gradually. 

Is fatigue a common symptom in the second wave?

Fatigue is a long-standing symptom of the corona virus. Although it was previously commonly associated with severe forms of corona. Medical experts and case studies reported that more and more people also feel tired during their prior symptoms and this may persist for a long time. The intensity of this symptom also cannot be ignored and can happen to people of any age, young or old, including children. Given that the second wave of coronavirus is nothing like the first, even the young and the healthier individuals are getting affected by the virus.

Is fatigue and weakness a common sign of corona?

Fatigue can be a common sign of not only corona but also other viral illnesses. However, in the case of corona, the intensity and duration of symptoms may be more severe. According to experts, fatigue occurs due to cytokines released by the body's immune system to relieve infection and inflammation. After fighting the infection, even in the initial stage you may feel lethargic, tired and experience intense fatigue. According to the WHO report, fatigue is now the third most common sign of corona infection.

How is corona fatigue different?

Medically speaking, fatigue can be a common complaint when the energy level is low in the normal case. However, it can last for a few hours and one usually recovers after some rest. On the other hand, in case of corona, fatigue can be prolonged, which makes it difficult to complete any task. In case of corona, you may feel more tired and lethargic. You may feel symptoms like dizziness or fainting. As per reports, extreme fatigue along with a drop in the platelet count can also be a sign of COVID-19. Muscle pain can lead to fatigue.
