A senior official of pharma major Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd who recently visited the company's facility in Himachal Pradesh's Baddi industrial, has tested positive for Covid-19 in Haryana's Panchkula on Sunday, officials said.

The state government has decided to seal the factory on Monday and quarantine all employees.

Superintendent of Police Rohit Malpani, who is posted in Baddi, said the employee had come to the facility twice and stayed in two hotels.

"We are going to seal the unit on Monday and all employees would be quarantined... even the people staying in the hotels will be quarantined," he told the media.

The Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh industrial belt in Himachal Pradesh has nearly 550 pharmaceutical units, with 500 of them being MSMEs.

Police have also registered a case against a senior HR head of Baddi-based Godrej Consumer Products Ltd for violating norms while entering the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh industrial belt.

Malpani said the official violated the movement restrictions enforced in the area.
