At least six people were injured and were taken to the hospital in Stockton, California, on Friday afternoon, April 11 (California local time). As per international media reports, security officials said the shooting occurred in the 500 block of Dr MLK Jr Boulevard near Lincoln Street.
The six injured men were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, the seriousness of the injuries to them is still unknown. The police department stated that all injured persons aged between 19 and 48 survived. The firing took place at around 2.10 p.m. on Lincoln Street and prompted road closures as officers investigated.
The emergency rescue officer said that it is not clear how many suspects were involved but that the shooting appeared to be a targeted one. He said there was no active threat at present in the area. Police did not share any suspect information and said no arrests were made.
One of the local media KCRA 3 reports said that at least 50 bullet casings were found on the road in the area and broken glass on the ground in front of Frontline Barbershop, where the shooting took place. The student from Edison High School, who is one of the eyewitnesses in the incident, said that she heard the sound of 15 gunshots.
