Indian-origin US President Donald Trump loyalist, Kash Patel, has been selected as the news Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) chief after winning the Senate vote 51-49. To thank him, Staff Dan Scavino, Trump's assistant and White House Deputy Chief of Staff, took X to share an AI-made video of the famous Bollywood song 'Malhari' from Bajirao Mastani to congratulate Patel.

In a shared dance video by Scavino on X featuring Ranveer Singh, the face from the original video is edited and replaced with Kash Patel's face. "Congratulations to the new Director of the FBI, Kash Patel," the post read. At the time of writing this report, the 47-second clip had received over 3 million views.

The clip has flooded with memes, while the post has left Indians speechless.

"Mr Patel will be a political and national security disaster," Senator Dick Durbin, the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, said in a statement. Kash Patel's taking charge as FIB director comes at a time when the FBI and its parent agency, the Justice Department, have been witnessing an exodus. At least 75 career Justice Department lawyers and FBI officials were sacked by the Trump Administration in the past few days.

"Thank you to President Trump and Attorney General Bondi for your unwavering confidence and support. The FBI has a storied legacy—from the 'G-Men' to safeguarding our nation in the wake of 9/11. The American people deserve an FBI that is transparent, accountable, and committed to justice. The politicalisation of our justice system has eroded public trust—but that ends today," he said in a post on X.

Patel further wrote that his mission is clear: to "let good cops be cops" and rebuild Americans' "trust in the FBI. "He also reiterated his 'America First' mentality, which is a prominent agenda of the Trump administration.

"And to those who seek to harm Americans—consider this your warning. We will hunt you down in every corner of this planet. Mission First. America Always. Let's get to work," Kash Patel said.
