Earthquake in Pakistan: 5.0-Magnitude Quake Hits Asian Country
Earthquake tremors were felt in Pakistan on Friday, February 28 at 5:14 am, measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS). The NCS confirmed that the quake’s epicenter was 10 km below the earth’s surface. No casualties or damage have been reported so far.

Earlier in the day, Nepal experienced a strong earthquake of 5.5 magnitude. The National Centre for Seismic Monitoring and Research stated that the epicenter was at Bhairavkund in Sindhupalchowk district, about 65 km east of Kathmandu. The quake struck at 2:36 am local time, causing panic in central and eastern Nepal.

This recent seismic activity highlights the vulnerability of the Himalayan region to earthquakes, a result of tectonic plate movements. The 2015 Nepal earthquake, which measured 7.8, had a devastating impact, claiming around 9,000 lives.
