First confirmed case in India as Coronavirus reported in Kerala
India's first case of Coronavirus has been reported in Kerala, the news was confirmed by the government. The patient is in isolation in the hospital said, the statement adding that the individual is stable and is being closely monitored. In Kerala, one person each from Thrissur, Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta and Malappuram and three from Ernakulam district have been kept in isolation wards of various helath centres, news agency PTI reported.
The Health ministry has now prescribed a 14-day isolation period for people who travel history to China in the past 15-days or had a possible contact with an nCoV infected person. Meanwhile, Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja has called a meeting with health secretary and other officials from the Directorate of Health Services to take stock of the situation. The patient who was tested positive was studying in Wuhan University in China.
