Several people were shot during a parade in Franklinton, Louisiana on Sunday (local time). Videos shared on social media showed the chaos that erupted during the parade after gunshots were fired. The police is yet to issue a statement on the incident.

Earlier, the campus of Southern University was placed under lockdown after a shooting was reported inside one of its residential halls on Sunday, March 2. According to international media reports, one person was injured in the shooting and was shifted to the hospital for treatment.

The incident occurred at around 7 PM (US local time) in U.S. Jones Hall. The university notified students of the lockdown and asked them to remain in their dorm rooms until an all-clear was given.
