Indianapolis: Over 135,000 Without Power After Tornado Hits Carmel; Visuals Emerge
A massive power outage was reported in Carmel, Indianapolis, on Wednesday, April 2, after a wild tornado struck the capital city. According to the Hindustan Times report, at least 135,000 people are facing a blackout in the area. As per the poweroutage.us data, nearly 40,000 customers of AES Indiana were without power, and 6,990 Anderson Light and Power customers reported issues.

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a warning after a massive tornado brought thunderstorms to the state. Videos and photos of a tornado in Carmel surfaced. The twister was reported on 116th Street in Carmel at 9:45 p.m. local time. There were no reports of casualties or injuries due to the tornado.

Regions like Brownsburg, Evansville, Muncie, and Zionsville are under the threat of tornados and weather wars issued by the weather department in the region. A tornado watch has been issued in at least 28 Indiana counties starting at 4 p.m. local time on April 2, and it will remain in effect until 11 p.m.
