Mufti Abdul Baki Noorzi Killed: Islamic Scholar Shot Dead by Unidentified Gunmen in Quetta

The wave of target killings in Pakistan shows no signs of stopping, with the latest victim being senior Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) leader, Mufti Abdul Baki Noorzi. On Sunday night, unidentified gunmen shot Mufti Noorzi on Airport Road in Quetta. Police reported that he was critically injured and rushed to the hospital, but doctors confirmed his death en route.

In response to the attack, security forces have launched a large-scale search operation to track down the assailants. Reports state that Mufti Noorzi was shot multiple times, and despite efforts to save him, he was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. Targeted killings in Balochistan have been a growing issue, with attackers often escaping the grasp of authorities, leaving many cases unresolved.
