The crescent moon of Ramadan 2025 was sighted in Canada on Friday evening, February 28. Therefore, Muslim communities will observe the holy month's fasting from March 1, 2025. Hilal Council of Canada confirmed the news of moon visibility in HCC Matla. 

"Ramadhān Mubarak! Alhamdulillah,  the moon was sighted within the HCC Matla'. Thus, tomorrow, Saturday, March 1 is the first fast, and tonight is the 1st Taraweeh. Saturday, March 29 will be the 29th of Ramadhân. Allah bless the Ummah, Āmīn," wrote Hilal Council of Canada in a post on X.

Islamic Community Center (ICCl) also confirmed the crescent of Ramzan 2025, said fasting on Saturday, March 1. The Muslim population in Canada estimated over 1.77 million. 

Meanwhile, many Gulf nations, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Egypt, and Kuwait, have also announced Saturday as the first day of Ramadan. Muslims fast from dawn to sunset during Ramadan, abstaining from eating, drinking during day time.
