South Korea: Plane with 176 On Board Catches Fire Before Takeoff; Crew and Passengers Evacuated (Watch Video)

A passenger plane caught fire before takeoff at Gimhae International Airport in South Korea on Tuesday night, according to news reports. The Air Busan flight, bound for Hong Kong, had 176 people on board, including 169 passengers and seven crew members.

All passengers and crew were safely evacuated using an inflatable slide. Three individuals sustained injuries, but their condition was not serious. The incident occurred at the airport in Busan, in the southeastern part of the country.

This incident comes just weeks after a deadly crash at Muan International Airport in December. A Jeju Air Boeing 737-800 skidded off the runway after its landing gear failed to deploy. The crash resulted in the deaths of 179 people. Only two of the 181 people on board survived, all of whom were South Korean nationals except for two Thai nationals.
