Turkey Terrorist Attack: 5 Killed, 22 Injured in Blast, Firing on TUSAS Aerospace Company Headquarters
Turkey's state-run aerospace firm, Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAS), experienced a tragic attack near Ankara on Wednesday, resulting in at least five fatalities, according to government officials. Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya confirmed the incident and reported that the assailants, a man and a woman, were killed during the assault.
Footage circulating on social media captured the moment the TUSAS headquarters was struck, showing an armed assailant approaching the facility while carrying backpacks and firearms.
While no group has yet claimed responsibility, Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler suggested a potential connection to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which is designated as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the European Union, and the United States.
"We [Turkey] continually punish the dishonorable members of the PKK as they deserve, yet they never seem to learn," the defense minister stated, refraining from providing additional details. The interior minister noted that preliminary evaluations indicate the PKK's involvement, and efforts to identify the attackers are ongoing.
