In a shocking incident, a woman died after allegedly being strangled by her fiance during sex at their home in Cardiff, UK. . The accused, 44-year-old Alcwyn Thomas, admitted to killing Victoria Thomas, 45, but claimed it was accidental, stating, "she asked me to choke her on bed. "The prosecution, however, argues that he used their sex life as a cover-up for murder, citing his intoxicated state and and violent tendencies. According to a BBC report, Alcwyn Thomas told Cardiff Crown that Victoria had asked him to strangle her during consensual sex after they returned home on August 20, 2024. "[Victoria] asked me to choke her on the bed," Thomas stated in court. He admitted to applying pressure and then realizing she had lost consciousness and her skin had turned "blue."
"I opened my eyes and looked at her face... she looked dead," he recounted. Thomas testified that he covered her with a blanket but did not attempt to revive her or call for medical assistance. He also told the jury that he had strangled Ms. Thomas "hundreds of times" before. The prosecution, however, presented a different narrative, suggesting that Thomas was in a "bad mood" after consuming a significant amount of alcohol, including about 16 pints of lager, taking cocaine, and believing he had lost money at bingo. They argued that the "make up sex" claim was a cover-up for what truly happened.
Under cross-examination by Michael Jones KC, Thomas acknowledged that his fiancée "wasn't best pleased" with him after leaving bingo and that she had allegedly called him abusive names in text messages to relatives. He conceded that he could be "horrible on drink and drugs" but insisted that the evening was "nothing different to normal." Despite being intoxicated, having used cocaine, arguing, and being sick, Thomas stated that Ms. Thomas still expressed a desire to have sex in a spare bedroom. The court case continues as the jury considers the conflicting accounts of the events leading to Ms. Thomas' death.
