Acharya Vinod Kumar Ojha: Holi in 2025 Has Special Astrological Significance

The festival of Holi has always comes with a special significance. But this year, it is even more pronounced, says renowned celebrity astrologer Acharya Vinod Kumar Ojha. He says that there is some very powerful planetary movement during this time.

“Holi in 2025 has special astrological significance because it falls under a powerful planetary alignment. Holi will be celebrated on March 14, 2025, under the influence of the Virgo Moon and Uttara Phalguni Nakshatra. The Moon’s presence in Virgo suggests a time of healing, purification, and emotional balance. Uttara Phalguni Nakshatra is linked to prosperity, partnerships, and generosity, making this Holi an excellent time for forgiveness, fresh beginnings, and strengthening relationships. Additionally, Jupiter and Venus will be well-placed, bringing joy, harmony, and abundance. Performing Holika Dahan rituals with proper intent can help remove negative influences and invite prosperity,” he says.

Talking about the significance of colour in astrology, he says, “If I had to describe myself with a colour based on astrology, I would choose deep blue (Shani’s colour). Blue represents depth, wisdom, and introspection, qualities associated with Saturn (Shani Dev), the planet of discipline and justice. This colour signifies patience, resilience, and spiritual growth. In astrology, deep blue is often recommended for people seeking stability, clarity, and long-term success.”

Water balloons are not preferred these days because they can hurt people. Talking from an astrological point of view, he adds that these might not be the best way to celebrate. “From an astrological and karmic perspective, using water balloons with harmful intent can create negative energy. Every action has a karmic consequence, and hurting others, even unintentionally, can bring an imbalance in one's energy field. The festival of Holi is about spreading love and positivity, and throwing water balloons aggressively can disturb the flow of harmonious vibrations. Instead, using natural colours and playing mindfully ensures good karma and keeps the spirit of the festival pure,” he says. He adds, “Many people wear white on Holi as it symbolizes purity and a fresh start. However, I prefer choosing colors based on astrology. If I want abundance and joy, I go for yellow (Jupiter’s colour). For harmony and love, I wear pink or red (Venus/Mars). If I seek spiritual balance, I choose blue (Saturn).

But no matter what colour we wear, the most important thing is to celebrate with a pure heart and spread positive vibes!”
Meanwhile, the spiritual healer adds that he loves treating himself to some special food on Holi. “Holi is incomplete without Gujiya! The crispy outer layer filled with sweet khoya and nuts is my absolute favorite. I also love thandai, a cooling drink made with milk, saffron, almonds, and spices, which refreshes the body and boosts energy. Malpua and dahi vada are also must-haves, adding to the festive delight,” he says.

He adds, “Certain foods are considered auspicious in astrology and bring good energy on Holi. These are milk-based sweets (like Gujiya and Rabri) as they are ruled by Venus. They attract happiness and prosperity. Saffron-infused drinks like Thandai are associated with Jupiter, enhancing wisdom and positivity. Fruits such as pomegranate and banana are linked to the Sun and Moon, bringing balance and vitality. Besides this, besan-based dishes like Pakoras and ruled by Mars, and help in boosting energy and courage.”
