Vinakya Chaturthi is consider as one of the important fasting day for lord Ganesha devotes and if the Angarki yog falls on that day then it is more important. On march 30th we celebrated Gudi Padwa a newyear of Marathi (Hindu) new year, which marks the beginning of chaitra. The first Chaturthi that comes after new year is Vinayak chaturthi which will be on 1st of April 2025. And this chaturthi is even more special as it coincides with Tuesdat  In Hindu astrology, Tuesdays are associated with Mars (Mangal), which represents strength, energy, and discipline. When Chaturthi a day dedicated to Lord Ganpati falls on a Tuesday, it is believed that observing a fast and performing rituals on this day can bring immense blessings, remove obstacles, and fulfill wishes. The name Vinayak of Ganapati is ancient. Vinayak means a hero who rules with a special rule. Ganapati is a god who fights at the forefront of battles, dances with pleasure on occasions of joy, eats sweets with relish, has a passion and interest in education, and is considered an ideal god by everyone. This Angaki Vinayak Chaturthi does not occur frequently. When Vinayak Chaturthi falls on a Tuesday, it is considered a Chaturthi with ‘Angarak Yoga’. Angarak means Mars. Vinayak Chaturthi is considered auspicious. It is said that special worship of Lord Ganesha should be done on Angarak Vinayak Chaturthi, which falls on Tuesday.

What is Angarak Yoga? Importance and Mythology

When Tuesday Chaturthi comes, Angarak Yoga is formed. It is said that references to this are found in the Mudgal Purana as well as the Ganesh Purana. Angarak means the planet Mars, which looks red like an ember. He took the Ganesh mantra from sage Bharadwaj and worshipped Ganesha. Pleased with his worship, Bappa blessed him, saying, 'My birth date was Chaturthi, so the Chaturthi that falls on Tuesday will be known as Angaraki Chaturthi after your name! The fast of Angaraki Chaturthi is observed with the intention that the Varadvinayak, who sanctified the planet Mars, which is considered inauspicious, may also save us. The devotees believe that observing the fast on all Chaturthi days of the year gives results, and besides, the blessings of Mars and Lord Ganesha himself are upon us.

How to perform Vinayak Chaturthi Angarak Yoga Vratpujan?

On Angarak Vinayak Chaturthi, one should wake up early in the morning and take a bath. Fast all day long. Make a resolution to worship Ganesha. Install an idol of Ganapati at a square. Perform the sixteen-part worship of Ganapati Bappa. Anoint the idol of Ganapati with pure water. While performing the abhishekam, if there is Atharvashirsha, then it should be repeated 21 times, otherwise the mantra ‘Om Gan Ganapataye Namah’ should be chanted 108 times. After this, flowers should be offered. Offering incense, lamps, and nevaidya, one should chant the names of Ganesha. It is best to offer offerings of laddus and modak to Ganapati. One should perform aarti of Ganapati and bow down with a sincere heart. If possible, one should definitely go to the Ganapati temple and have darshan of Bappa. Also, one should perform rituals according to one's own family religion, family customs, and traditions. On Sankashta Chaturthi, we fast all day and break the fast after the moon rises at night and take a view of the moon, but the scriptures say that the fast of Vinayaka Chaturthi should be fasted both times like the Ekadashi fast and break it the next day.

Be sure to offer offerings of one Durva, Jasvanda flowers, and sweet

It is believed that if one fasts on Angaraki Chaturthi, no trouble arises or if trouble arises, it is resolved. Ganesha blessed Mangala and gave him the boon that this Chaturthi in your name would be beneficial to people. Since then, it is believed that this day of Angaraki Chaturthi has acquired special importance. If you are unable to worship Ganesha on Angaraki Sankashti Chaturthi despite the stress and rush, then you should definitely offer one Durva. It is said that by offering a pair of 21 Durvas on this day, Ganesha is pleased and bestows happiness, prosperity and wisdom on the devotees. One should remember and chant the name of Ganesha with all one's heart. It is said that by doing this, one can attain the merit of complete worship. It is said that without offering Durvas, the worship of Ganesha is not complete and the merit of worship is not attained. Jaswandi flowers, which are dear to Ganesha, must be offered. Also, one should offer laddus, modaks or sweet dishes that Ganesha likes. It is said that by doing this, Ganesha is pleased and bestows blessings.
