Gudi Padwa is a Marathi new year prominently celebrated in Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and some parts of Gujarat and Rajasthan. This festival falls on the first day of Chaitra (March-April) in the Hindu lunar calendar; it marks the arrival of spring, the beginning of the harvest season, and a time of prosperity.
In 2025, Gudi Padwa will be observed on Sunday, March 30. Gudi is celebrated by hoisting the Gudi consisting of a bamboo stick, a saffron color cloth, and Kalash decorated with garlands. After hoisting the Gudi, sweet neivedya is offered, and then people enjoy the victory of good over evil with family and friends.

Puran Poli
A classic Maharashtrian sweet flatbread stuffed with a mixture of cooked chana dal, jaggery, nutmeg, and cardamom. It is served with ghee or milk.
Shrikhand
