The holy month of Ramadan has already begun across the world, and people in Muslim communities are fasting during the day. Ramzan is the 9th month of the Hijri calendar. In some countries, Ramadan 2025 began on February 28 evening, while in South Asian nations, it started on March 1, 2025.
During the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims believe the Islamic book, the Quran, was completely revealed. During this month, Muslims around the world observe fasting (Roza), give charity, receive the holy book, etc. The period of fasting in some countries is longest, while some countries have the shortest Roza. However, it depends on the different geographical locations due to variations in daylight hours.

People living in the northern hemisphere will experience the longest hour of fasting compared to those nearer the Equator or the Southern Hemisphere, which is currently tilted away from the sun. Muslim communities in Nordic countries like Nuuk, Greenland, Reykjavík, and Iceland will fast for approximately 16 hours on March 29, which will mark the final fasting and longest day of Ramadan 2025.
