Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has made a big announcement regarding police recruitment in the state. Anil Deshmukh on Monday informed that recruitment process will be implemented for 12,538 posts in the police department. In the first phase, recruitment will be done for 5,300 posts. The remaining seats will be filled in the second phase.

Anil Deshmukh also said if need arises then more people will be recruited in the police department. Meanwhile, a few days back, the state government had announced its decision to conduct police recruitment process in the state without SEBC reservation. But this decision was strongly opposed by Maratha organizations. So the police recruitment process has been in the controversy. Although it has been decided that the police recruitment process will be carried out after Anil Deshmukh's announcement today, it will be important to see what role will Maratha organizations play in this regard.
