Heavy security has been deployed at the Aurangzeb’s Tomb in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district in Maharashtra as Hindu organisations, including Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal have staged a protest demanding its removal. The protest to raze the tomb of the Mughal emperor was organised by Hindu groups and planning to submit memorandums to local authorities.

Meanwhile, NDA political leasers also argue that the Maharashtra government should raze the tomb during today's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti 2025. Bajrang Dal member Nitin Mahajan questioned why the Mughal emperor's grave was being worshipped in Sambhaji Nagar.

"In Sambhajinagar, Aurangzeb's grave is being worshipped. The grave of Sambhaji’s murderer is being built… When such graves are worshipped, then the society also develops in that manner… At that time, we were helpless, but now Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal are demanding that it should be removed," Mahajan said.

Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad also back the protest to remove grave, said, "Right now, a wave of Hindu organizations will come, let's see what happens in the coming days. The grave should be removed."

While the NCP-SP MLA Rohit Pawar criticized the BJP-led Mahayuti government in the state and said Koratkar and Solapurkar made extremely low-level remarks against the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Mahara, no action was taken.

"Whether it’s Bajrang Dal or any other organization aligned with BJP’s ideology, where were they when individuals like Koratkar and Solapurkar spoke against Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj? They remained silent even when extremely low-level remarks were made. They did not receive any instructions to fight back then," said Rohit Pawar.

Meanwhile, speaking at an event in Pune, Telangana BJP MLA T Raja Singh said, "The Hindus in Maharashtra want that Aurangzeb's grave should be erased from the state...Kab tutegi Aurangzeb ki kabr?" He said he now has only one resolve- to make India a 'Hindu Rashtra' and remove Aurangzeb's grave.
