With the increasing number of covid-19 cases the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation is all set to make PJ Hindu gymkhana, along Marine Drive, from Thursday, for quarantining Covid-19 patients and their close contacts.

According to sources, soon BMC will take over all six gymkhanas along Marine Drive (Police, Catholic, Grand Medical, Hindu, Islam and Parsee).

“A few days back, BMC officials inspected our gymkhana, and gave us a notice that they may take over our facility soon. We’re ready to offer our ground too. We were the first to offer our gymkhana,” said Yusuf Abrani, president of Islam Gymkhana and an ex-MLA.

The number of COVID-19 cases in Mumbai crossed the 10,000-mark to 10,527 on Wednesday with 769 more people testing positive for coronavirus and 25 others succumbing to the viral infection, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said.
