Chandrapur: Bar owner performs 'aarti' of photo of Vijay Wadettiwar after lifting 6 yr-old liquor ban
There was a celebration among boozers as liquor shops reopened in Chandrapur district after a gap of six years. The Maharashtra Government had lifted the liquor ban in Chandrapur district on May 27.
The decision was taken in view of the large-scale increase in illicit liquor and increased crime in the district since the ban was imposed on April 1, 2015.
After the ban was lifted an owner of a bar & restaurant in Chandrapur, performed 'aarti' of a photo of district's Guardian Minister Vijay Wadettiwar, as the six-yr-old liquor ban here was lifted by the state government last week
The owner said, "For us he is God. Whoever helps us earn a livelihood, is our God."
