He emphasized the need for both strict laws and a societal mindset shift to ensure gender equality and security for women.
"The government is committed to ensuring women's safety through strict laws and immediate action on complaints. Additionally, we are leveraging cyber technology to combat crimes such as morphing and deepfake videos on social media. We will leave no stone unturned in protecting women," said CM Fadnavis. He stressed that controlling cybercrimes is a top priority for the state government, with advanced cyber surveillance measures being implemented to tackle digital crimes against women.
Addressing the challenges of women in media, CM Fadnavis acknowledged the 24/7 nature of journalism and the multiple responsibilities women must juggle between their professional and personal lives. He praised women journalists for their resilience and dedication despite these challenges.
In a major push for women entrepreneurship, the Maharashtra government is offering special incentives for women-led businesses across various sectors. Additionally, in collaboration with Microsoft, a campaign has been launched to train 10,000 women in Artificial Intelligence (AI). "Future jobs will be AI-driven, and we want women to be at the forefront of this revolution," the Chief Minister stated, highlighting the importance of equipping women with tech skills for emerging job markets.
CM Fadnavis also spoke about media monitoring, clarifying that the aim is not to restrict the press but to ensure accurate information reaches the public. "We are developing a system to segment news and provide factual clarifications for any misleading reports," he said.
