CM Thackeray on Lockdown: CM Thackeray warns of lockdown, decision to be taken soon
Maharashtra on Wednesday registered 13,659 new coronavirus cases, the highest one-day spike this year, taking the state’s tally to 22,52,057. The state had reported 13,395 Covid-19 infections on October 8 following which the number of daily cases had declined.
The situation in the state worrying as the cases are riing again after witnessing a slump for three months. As the infection rate has increased, the administration has imposed restrictions in few areas.
Amid the rising COVID-19 cases, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday hinted of imposing lockdown in some areas. A decision on this will be taken in one or two days, he said. He said while speaking to reporters in Mumbai.
The number of corona patients in the state has been increasing over the last few days.The prevalence of corona has increased in many parts. Journalists asked Chief Minister Thackeray what measures will be taken in this regard."Some places where cases are increasing lockdown has already been imposed there. Citizens need to follow the rules. The prevalence of corona is increasing. So a tough decision has to be made. A decision will be made in the next day or two. If the cases continue to increase, will have no other way but to impose a lockdown", the CM said.
