COVID-19 Lockdown: Maharashtra lockdown to be extended after June 1?, Here's what CM Thackeray has to say
Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has arrived in Konkan today to inspect the damage caused by the cyclone Tauktae. Thackeray said that he is visiting the cyclone-hit area not to respond to the opposition's criticism but to provide relief to the people of Konkan. The Chief Minister was asked whether the lockdown in the state would be extended beyond June 1.
CM was also questioned about the break-in chain and lockdown in the state. He responded saying that the decision on lockdown would be taken based on the situation, he clarified.
"Of course covid cases are declining, but I won't talk about it. You have experienced the last wave. Last time we had almost controlled the spread of the virus. However, due to unlock the cases quadrupled. Also, the current virus is deadly and is spreading rapidly. We need to be wise from past experience when we relax restrictions. At present, the situation is under control and a decision on lockdown will be taken accordingly, the Chief Minister clarified hinting at extension of lockdown in state.
