COVID-19: Schools in Mumbai to remain closed from Jan 16 till further orders

As a preventive measure towards breaking the chain of coronavirus in the Mumbai, all schools in the city will remain closed from January 16, 2021 till further orders, said a BMC order. 

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to keep the schools in Mumbai closed till further orders.

Earlier BMC had extended its decision on keeping schools and colleges in Mumbai closed till January 15. The civic body cited concerns over a second wave of coronavirus. 

The circular cites fears over a possible second wave of coronavirus in the state. In a circular, BMC Education Officer Mahesh Palkar said that the corona situation in Mumbai is under control, but considering the corona situation in other states in the country and against the backdrop of the second wave of corona in other countries, schools in BMC area will remain closed till further orders.
