Covid cases in Maharashtra has been increasing drastically. Uday Samant, Minister of State for Higher and Technical Education, has convened an emergency meeting of the Vice-Chancellors of the non-agricultural universities in the state and officials of the education department, divisional commissioners and district collectors at 12 noon today. During the meeting, Uday Samant will discuss the status of corona in the university's jurisdiction and other matters. It is learned that today's meeting will decide whether colleges will remain open against the backdrop of increasing number of patients in Corona.

The meeting convened by Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant will be attended by Vice Chancellors of state universities, Education Department officials, Divisional Commissioners and all District Collectors. The meeting will be held online. Today's meeting will review the covid situation. Against the backdrop of growing corona infection, there will be a discussion on what the next educational policy should be. Today's meeting is likely to decide whether the college and university will remain open or shut. 

The meeting will discuss the measures that can be taken to continue the ongoing examinations, courses and colleges against the backdrop of increasing corona virus infection. The Vice-Chancellors of the Universities under the Department of Higher and Technical Education and the officials of the Department of Education are expected to present the report at today's meeting. It is learned that after the submission of the report, a decision will be taken after discussions with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
