Dharashiv Bandh: Protesters Demand Resignation of Maharashtra CM and Deputy CM Over Santosh Deshmukh Murder Case

Anger against the Maharashtra government in the state following the murder of Beed Sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh. After the resignation of minister and NCP leader Dhananjay Munde, protestors now demand for the resignation of Maharashtra Cief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. A bandh was held in Beed district on Tuesday, March 4, to protest against delay in justice for Santosh Deshmukh murder case, and now similar protests have been called for Dharashiv district.

Protesters are demanding that former minister Dhananjay Munde be made an accused in the case and that all those involved in the murder of Deshmukh face immediate punishment. Additionally, the Home Minister, who has failed to apprehend the absconding accused for three months, should resign. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who is supporting the accused, should also step down.

A bandh has been called in Dharashiv district today (March 5) by the villagers to press these demands. All businesses, except essential services, will remain closed. The bandh will affect several districts, including Dharashiv, Kalamb, Bhum, Paranda, and Tuljapur. The brutal assault on Santosh Deshmukh, the images of which have gone viral on social media, has deeply hurt the sentiments of citizens.
