Dharashiv, Maharashtra (April 5, 2025): A tragic incident unfolded in Paranda taluka of Dharashiv, where a 20-year-old college student collapsed and died while delivering a farewell speech. The sudden demise has left the college and her family in deep shock. The incident occurred at R. G. Shinde College in Paranda. The student, identified as Varsha Kharat, was addressing the farewell gathering of her BSc class when she suddenly collapsed on stage. Witnesses rushed her to the hospital, but doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Varsha’s speech was being recorded on a mobile phone, and the video, now viral, captures the moment she collapsed. Just moments before, she had said, “Everyone studies as much as they can in their own way,” which made the students laugh. She then started speaking about her teachers before suddenly falling unconscious. The exact cause of her death remains unclear. Some believe she may have suffered heat exhaustion due to rising temperatures, while others suspect a cardiac arrest. Doctors are conducting an investigation to determine the cause.

Varsha’s sudden death has cast a pall of grief over the college. Students and faculty members are mourning the loss of a bright and cheerful student who had just moments earlier been delivering a heartfelt speech.
