A blast occurred in a mosque located in Beed district's Ardha Masla village in Maharashtra's Georai tehsil during the early hours of Sunday morning. The explosion, which was of low intensity, caused no injuries. The incident took place around 2:30 a.m., just ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations on March 31. The arrested individuals have been identified as Vijay Rama Gavhane (22) and Sriram Ashok Sagde (24). Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis responded to the incident, stating, "We have received the information and gathered details about the culprits. The concerned SP will provide further updates."

According to reports from news agency PTI, a confrontation had occurred between two religious groups the previous night during a 'Sandal' procession in the village. The two groups had planned a joint celebration for both Gudi Padwa and Eid on Sunday morning, when the suspects allegedly attempted to damage the mosque.

Following the incident, repairs were carried out on the damaged areas of the mosque, including the replacement of tiles. The situation led to heightened tensions in the area, prompting authorities to deploy heavy security to ensure peace. The Talawada police were alerted at around 4:00 a.m. by the village head.
