During the second wave of the Covid, the country was experiencing a severe shortage of oxygen. So it was claimed that many people died due to lack of oxygen at that time. Meanwhile, when asked about the number of deaths in Maharashtra due to oxygen shortage in the second wave of corona, state health minister Rajesh Tope has given important information. During the second wave of corona, no patient died in the state due to lack of oxygen, said Rajesh Tope.

During the second wave of corona, 22 people died at a hospital in Nashik in April due to a leak in an oxygen tank. At the time, Rajesh Tope had said that the incident would be investigated to find out about the negligence. Meanwhile, the Center on Tuesday informed the Rajya Sabha that during the second wave of corona, no patient died due to oxygen shortage in various states and union territories in the country.

Meanwhile, opposition parties have strongly opposed the statement. Replying to a question on a news channel on the issue, Tope said, "We have never said that people have died due to lack of oxygen in the state." Many patients suffer from other ailments. No patient died due to oxygen shortage.

Earlier, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut had lashed out at the Centre over the deaths due to inadequate oxygen supply. He also advised that relatives of patients who died due to inadequate supply of oxygen should go to court against the central government.
