India's Got Latent Controversy: SC Asks Ranveer Allhabadia To Surrender Passport; YouTuber Asked Not To Leave Country Without Permission

The Supreme Court (SC) on February 18, slammed YouTuber Ranveer Allhabadia for his inappropriate comments during a guest appearance in India’s Got Latent show. The Supreme Court granted him protection from being arrested as multiple FIRs were registered against him. The SC also asked him to surrender his passport and he cannot leave the country without permission of the court. The court also asked him to cooperate with the authorities during the probe.

The Court previously voiced its disapproval of the comments made by podcaster and YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadia during his guest appearance on the show India's Got Latent. The lawyer for Allahabadia was questioned by the supreme court over his descriptions of vulgarity and obscenity.

The Supreme Court was considering the appeal of Ranveer Allahbadia, against several FIRs. He had requested the aggregation of several FIRs that had been brought against him because of his comments about "India's got Latent."

On February 24, Ranveer Allahbadia was invited to participate in the investigation by the Maharashtra Police's cyber cell. Due to his harsh comments on the show 'India's Got Latent,' which caused a stir, the cyber cell is looking into Allahbadia and others.

The YouTuber and podcaster Allahbadia was previously "continuously out of contact with the investigative agencies," according to a joint statement from the Mumbai and Guwahati Police. In the 'India's Got Latent' case, he was mentioned in FIRs submitted by the Maharashtra Cyber Department, Guwahati Police, and Jaipur Police, according to the police.
