In a freak incident in Mumbai on June 13, a SUV parked in a society compound fell and sank into an old, deep well whose cover got dislodged in the deluge. The car, along with other vehicles, was parked on the well covered by RCC slabs, which were apparently washed away owing to the heavy rains in Mumbai during the past four days.

The incident happened in the Ramnivas Society on Cama Road in Ghatkopar suburb. The Mumbai Police, BMC teams and others deployed water pumps to empty the well. After 12 hours, the car, which had sank 40 feet deep, was recovered. The society had requisitioned a crane to lift the vehicle from the bottom of the well, which is more than a century old and around 40-50 deep.

The video of the incident went viral on social media. Memes and jokes about the car committing suicide due to the rising price of petrol and diesel were circulating on social media. However, after all these incidents, it has come to light that Bajaj Alliance has now given a brand new car to the car owner, Dr. Kiran Doshi.

The vehicle owner Kiran Doshi from Mumbai said, 'After the car sank, Bajaj Allianz employees came to my house. They took some forms from me. They asked me to inform them from which car dealer he would like to buy the car from. A brand new car was provided to Doshi through a car dealer on behalf of the company.
