Old Kasara Ghat Closed From Today: Traffic on Mumbai-Nashik Highway Diverted; Check Alternate Routes
The Old Kasara Ghat section of the Mumbai-Nashik Highway will remain closed in two phases for road repairs. The closure is scheduled from February 24 to 27, 2025 and again from March 3 to 6, between 8 AM and 6 PM, as part of preparations for the monsoon. During this period, traffic on the Nashik-Mumbai route has been diverted via the new Kasara Ghat. Heavy vehicles, including Odyssey buses, are completely banned on this stretch and have been rerouted through the Mumbai-Pune Expressway.
Repair work commenced at 10 AM today, with police and disaster management teams deployed to ensure passenger safety. Kasara Police Station in-charge Suresh Gavit, along with Highway Police officers Chhaya Kamble and Ram Honde, have implemented security measures.
