LMOTY 2025: Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis Shares Light-Hearted Take on His ‘Favorite Ministers’
Mumbai, Maharashtra (March 19, 2025): Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis addressed several key topics during an interview at the "Lokmat Maharashtrian of the Year" awards held today at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai. During the interview with Nationalist Congress Party - Sharadchandra Pawar (NCP-SP) state president Jayant Patil, Fadnavis responded to questions about his cabinet and the political environment in the state.
Amid discussions surrounding the religious tension in Nagpur, there were reports that Fadnavis had called Minister Nitesh Rane to advise him against making provocative statements. However, Rane later clarified that he was the Chief Minister's favorite minister and that no such warning had been given him.

When Patil asked Fadnavis to name his top three favorite minister. Fadnavis responded humorously, saying, “I have introduced the Chief Minister’s Favorite Minister Scheme. Ministers who meet the criteria will be recognized as the ‘favorite ministers.’”
Patil commented, “This will lead to a competition among ministers to be included in the scheme.”
The Lokmat Maharashtrian of the Year Awards honor individuals who have made extraordinary contributions in various fields, including sports, cinema, science, technology, business, arts, infrastructure, society, politics, and administration. The awards are given in recognition of significant contributions made in Maharashtra.
