Maharashtra Accident: MSRTC Bus Falls Into 50-Foot Gorge in Varandh Ghat; 15–20 Injured
Raigad, Maharashtra (March (15, 2025): An MSRTC bus plunged into a 50-foot gorge in Varandh Ghat on Saturday afternoon after its brakes failed. The accident occurred at a sharp turn near Varandh village on the Bhor-Mahad road.

Reports say the bus lost control when the brakes malfunctioned while negotiating a sharp turn. The bus veered off the road and fell into the gorge.
Fortunately, there were no fatalities, but 15 to 20 passengers were injured in the crash.
Local police and rescue teams quickly arrived at the scene and helped pull the passengers out of the bus. The injured were rushed to a hospital in Mahad for treatment.
State Minister Bharat Gogawale visited the hospital to check on the condition of the injured.
