Maharashtra Accident: Tanker Carrying Kerosene Plunges Off Bridge in Palghar, Catches Fire (Watch Video)

Palghar, Maharashtra (March 31, 2025): A tanker carrying kerosene fell from a bridge and caught fire in Maharashtra’s Palghar district on Sunday. The accident disrupted traffic on the service road for several hours. The incident took place in the Manor area on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway. The driver lost control of the vehicle. The tanker crashed into a sidewall and plunged onto the service road. A large quantity of kerosene spilled on the road. Authorities diverted traffic for a few hours. CCTV footage captured the dramatic scene as people ran for safety.

Disaster management personnel and the local fire brigade arrived at the scene. They cleaned the spill and secured the area. The tanker driver suffered injuries. He was admitted to a local hospital. Officials launched an investigation.

In a separate incident, a truck and a car collided in Maharashtra’s Thane district on Sunday. One person sustained injuries in the accident. The crash happened at 4:10 p.m. near Raheja Police Chowki at Three Haat Naka in Thane West. The truck was traveling from Mulund to Diva. The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz car was heading toward Kalwa.

The car driver suffered minor injuries. Emergency teams from the RDMC and Wagle Police Station reached the scene. They carried out rescue and relief operations. The accident caused a traffic slowdown between Mulund Check Naka and Three Haat Naka. Officials cleared the road and restored normal traffic.
