Maharashtra Assembly Election 2024: NCP (SP)’s Mahebub Shaikh, BJP’s Suresh Dhas from Ashti Get Notices Over Poll Expenses
NCP (SP) candidate Mahebub Shaikh and BJP MLC Suresh Dhas have been served notices regarding their poll expenses, an official stated on Sunday. They are among 17 candidates running from the Ashti seat in Beed district. According to an official release, a review meeting on November 8 examined candidates' poll expenses, prompting notices to Mahebub Shaikh and Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Pradip Chavhan to submit detailed expense records.
Notice has also been issued to Dhas, Balasaheb Ajbe and Bhimrao Dhonde, it said. The notices have been issued under section 77 of The Representation of the People Act.

Maharashtra assembly elections are set for November 20, with counting for all 288 constituencies scheduled on November 23. The opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance—comprising Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction)—aims to regain control in the state, facing off against the Mahayuti alliance, which includes Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Ajit Pawar-led NCP.
