Maharashtra Budget 2025: Mumbai Metro To Link CSMIA-Navi Mumbai Airport, Says Ajit Pawar
The Mumbai Metro services will connect Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) with Navi Mumbai International Airport, Maharashtra Finance Minister Ajit Pawar said on March 10 while presenting the Maharashtra Budget. In his eleventh budget presentation, Ajit Pawar stated that a total expenditure of Rs 7.20 lakh crore has been allotted in the state budget for 2025–2026. An estimated Rs 5,60,964 crore would be collected in revenue, whereas Rs 6,06,855 crore will be spent. This means that the expected income imbalance is Rs 45,891 crore.
The state government is devoted to growth and will be concentrating on making mobility easier, said Ajit Pawar. Highways, ports, airports, waterways, bus transportation, railroads, and metros are all important areas that receive sufficient funding, he noted.
According to the Finance Minister, work on the Mumbai Metro project between Navi Mumbai International Airport and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport will soon commence.
Further speaking about the Navi Mumbai International Airport, he said that domestic flights will begin operating from the Navi Mumbai International Airport in April 2025, with 85% of the 1,160-hectare project in the Ulwe region of Navi Mumbai being ready.
