A major fire broke out at a scrap warehouse near Kolad in Raigad, Maharashtra, early this morning, causing extensive damage to the entire stock of materials stored at the facility. Authorities believe the fire was triggered by a short circuit in the warehouse, which quickly spread across the premises.
The fire, which erupted on the busy Mumbai-Goa Highway, led to significant destruction, with flames consuming piles of scrap metal and other materials stored in the warehouse. The blaze sent plumes of thick smoke into the air, visible from miles away, causing traffic disruptions on the highway as emergency teams worked to control the situation.
Firefighters from nearby areas, along with local police and disaster management teams, rushed to the scene to extinguish the flames. While no casualties have been reported, the warehouse's inventory was entirely destroyed in the fire. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the short circuit that ignited the blaze.
